Samantha Scholes, M.a.
Ph.D. STUDENT, UNDER SUPERVISED PRACTICE
Samantha Scholes is a Doctoral Candidate at McGill in the School/Applied Child Psychology program and a student member of the L’Ordre des Psychologues du Quebec (OPQ), under the supervision of Dr. Melissa Stern. She is also a PEERS® certified provider for adolescents and for school-based environments. Samantha has also received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and is undergoing training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
Throughout her professional career, she has gained extensive experience in both research and clinical settings, working with toddlers, children, adolescents, and adults both with and without neurodevelopmental conditions (i.e., autism, ADHD, intellectual disability). Samantha has completed year-long placements at the Lethbridge-Layton-Mackay Rehabilitation Centre, Miriam Home, and the Lester B. Pearson School Board. Across settings, she has provided psychoeducational and autism assessments, therapy, consultations, and assisted with interventions for youth with neurodevelopmental conditions.
Samantha has a wide range of assessment experience (e.g., attention, behaviour, learning), while continuing to work to specialize in the field of autism.Samantha aims to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment, where she can work collaboratively with her clients and their families throughout the entire process.
