Shauna (she/her) is a professional art therapist (ATPQ/CATA) dedicated to compassionate, trauma-informed, and client-centered care. She holds a Masters in Creative Arts Therapies (Art Therapy) and Art Education from Concordia University, and a Bachelor’s in Therapeutic Recreation.
Shauna helps individuals explore and express emotions through art in a safe environment, facilitating healing and personal growth. She has extensive experience working with diverse populations and has received specialized training in trauma-informed therapy, cognitive processing therapy (CPT), and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT). She integrates these
approaches to help clients develop emotional regulation, resilience, and a more profound sense of well-being.
Her work spans schools, community centers, rehabilitation programs, and mental health clinics, providing therapy to those facing trauma, anxiety, depression, and cultural displacement, including refugees and survivors of assault.
Using creative arts therapy alongside traditional counselling, Shauna helps clients gain insight into their emotions and stressors through the art-making process. She also facilitates group work to enhance communication, relationships, and emotional intelligence.
In addition to her clinical work, Shauna contributes to art, trauma, and therapy research and is committed to lifelong learning through ongoing education and training.
