SOPHIE SYDORIAK, R.N., M.A.

NURSE CLINICIAN

Sophie is a Master’s student in the Counselling Psychology program at McGill University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Psychology from the University of Montreal. As a clinical nurse for over five (5) years, she has extensive clinical experience with a diverse adult psychiatric population (e.g., anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, borderline personality disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), etc.). In addition, Sophie attended several trainings to provide clinical interventions adapted to the therapeutic needs of her clients. In particular, she is trained in the application of Reconsolidation Therapy (Brunet Method) for individuals with PTSD.

Sophie places great importance on creating an empathetic therapeutic environment conducive to self-acceptance and behavioural change in her clients. She aspires to specialize her clinical interventions in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
