Dr. Melissa Stern is a licensed psychologist with over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. A graduate of McGill’s Applied Child Psychology program, her research focused on emotional regulation and self-harm. She has worked in diverse clinical settings including private practice, hospital outpatient clinics, and the McGill University Assessment Clinic. Melissa also teaches graduate psychology courses at McGill University. She received extensive training in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute and is the first DBT-Linehan Board Certified Clinician™ in Quebec. One of few in Canada trained in DBT for Children (DBT-C), she supports clients facing anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts. Her compassionate and non-judgmental approach helps clients feel at ease while building skills for emotional resilience and well-being. She offers services in both English and French.
